Soutine

For Parisian style fine-dining on the St John’s Wood High Street, Corbin & King’s Soutine is exactly what you are looking for. Similar in many ways to Colbert, the informal neighbourhood rendez-vous takes inspiration from the great boulevard cafés of Paris. Located in an impressive period building, the front room and pavement offers relaxed café and bar seating, leading to an impressive space at the back of the restaurant.

The restaurant design, led by Jeremy King and Shayne Brady of BradyWilliams, is heavily influenced by the area’s strong artistic heritage where the nearby St John’s Wood Art School, which subsequently became the Anglo-French Art Centre, was opened by returnees from the Parisian Art Community. Celebrating this history, the restaurant evokes the Arts and Crafts Movement whilst taking visual cues from Edwardian architecture. Soft and feminine in its approach, custom tiled flooring in the bar is evocative of Parisian bistros. The front room has been designed to be casual, light and airy, encouraging impromptu coffees or more substantial all day dining. A marble top bar with pewter edge detailing plays host to 15 guests and becomes the ideal place to drink or dine.
